On the day - here are a few tips from Denne:

Arrive early at the event, go to the registration desk and pick up your race number and timing transponder and look at the course notes displayed in the registration area.
Make sure you eat a high carbohydrate breakfast about 2 hours before the ride. Then maybe a top-up snack half an hour or so before the start.
Do a final check of your bike - check that nothing has been moved or damaged in transit. Check things like your tyre pressures and seat height.

Assemble early at the start, at the Truckstop in Pokeno Village, and listen carefully to the instructions given by the race controller. Remember the ride starts at 9.00am.

During the Ride - it is up to you , but carrying a muesli bar/sports bar/banana or similar may help. Make sure you are carrying a drink bottle.
Post-Ride - Wait around for the prize giving . Have a post ride carbohydrate snack, particularly in the 10-15 minutes immediately afterwards. There will be food stalls available after the event.
